Bachata Classes

(Complete beginners start here – NO experience required!)

This class will teach you the four-beat basic step and movements of beginning Bachata, as well as:

• Basic Bachata step & turns
• Partnering techniques
• Giving/receiving basic turn combinations
• Footwork styling options
• Music Theory

At the end of week 4, with this class and a little dedication, you’ll be ready for Basic 2 Bachata!

(Basic 1 Bachata level experience required.)

This class will teach you the essance of body movement in Bachata:

• Fancier footwork patterns
• Proper hip & rib movement
• Introduction to body isolations
• Half rotations
• Complex wrap and lead reverse turn combinations

This class will prepare you for Basic 3 Bachata!

(Basic 2 Bachataa level experience required.)

This class will teach you the variations of Bachata Footwork:

• Bachata cross body leads
• Intricate footwork patterns
• Intricate body isolations
• Turn combinations incorporating body movement
• Forward body rolls

This class will prepare you for Intermediate 1 Bachata!

(Basic 3 Bachata level experience required.)

FIVE to SIX month minimum at the Intermediate 1 Bachata level recommended for all of our students.
Learn the proper technique and counts to successful cross-body’s and how to link them to newly learned combinations.

Specific techniques you’ll learn:

• Partner hand tosses
• Introduction to basic dips
• Body rolls incorporated into partner work

This class prepares you for Intermediate 2 Bachata!

(Minimum of FIVE to SIX months at the Intermediate 1 Bachata level required.)

FIVE to SIX month minimum at the Intermediate 2 Bachata level recommended for all of our students.
Learn the proper technique and counts to successful cross-body’s and how to link them to newly learned combinations.

Specific techniques you’ll learn:

• Partner hand tosses
• Introduction to spiral dips
• Incorporating double spins into partner work

This class prepares you for Intermediate 3 Bachata!

FIVE to SIX month minimum at the Intermediate 3 Bachata level recommended for all of our students.

Specific techniques you’ll learn:

• Intriquite partner work
• Closed body position partnerwork
• Incorporating multiple spins into partnerwork (2 plus)
• Adding isolated movement to partnerwork

This class prepares you for Advance Bachata!

(Minimum of 2 sessions of Intermediate 1 Bachata or instructor assessment/approval)

Sensual Bachata is a just that, sensual. In this class you will learn:

• Emphasis on connection with partner and music.
• Basic/intermediate body isolations, sensual combinations, and styling, new specialty turns and footwork.
• Increased level of difficulty with each passing session.

This class prepares you for Sensual Bachata 1.5!

In this class, you will build on material from Sensual Bachata 1.

• Combos
• Isolations
• Styling, and
• Footwork is more complex.

This class prepares you for Sensual Bachata 2!

In this class, you will build on material from Sensual Bachata 1.5. You will experience

• An increased level of difficulty in all aspects of the dance.
• Focus on musicality through footwork and partnerwork.

This class is a great class to be taken if you are interested in performing or trying out for our Bachata dance team.
